Dear Strings Families:
Next week is the 8th Grade/High School Side-by-Side Concert at AHHS Auditorium. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m., but the call time for the students is 6:15 in the High School Orchestra Room. The Orchestra Room is attached to the building where the auditorium is housed. Students may enter the side glass doors (you can see the hallway with the practice rooms through the glass windows.) The dress for all students is Formal Black, but Mr. Meinecke said they are allowed to wear head gear or face paint as long as it does not interfere with the care or playing of the instrument. The song they are playing is "The Curse of the Rosin Eating Zombies from Outer Space." They are having fun working on it and will have a blast playing it with the high school students! I think they are playing this song second to last on their program. The high school fall concert is always fun to watch! If your child cannot attend this concert or if you have any questions or concerns, please send us an email. Thank you, Kathy Murdock and Lani Gil Hello, Strings Families!

Hello! Here are the audition results for incoming 7th and 8th graders! I heard some really great stuff, thank you to all our students for practicing. Please keep up the great work and have a great summer. Remember: The purpose of our auditions was to help place students into the correct course that best reflects their skill level and will help them be most successful. Each placement is done in the best interest of each student. Hello! I know I have some eager incoming 9th graders who would like to know what orchestra they made at AHHS. Here are the results Mr. Mienecke sent me: Earlier in the year, we posted about getting a grant supported through the Alamo Heights Foundation. We received our speaker system and harmony director and use the equipment everyday! Thank you! |
