Did you know that Mr. Arambula's favorite composer is Mozart? Rightfully so, the man was genius! He accomplished so much in so little time (he died at age 35). The San Antonio Symphony is hosting a music festival in his honor; they will be bring world class musicians from all around the world to perform his most famous works and other works by other composers who where inspired by Mozart. I highly recommend any of the following events if your family has the time to attend! In the meantime, I'll go practice... thanks Mozart! Happy Holidays! After the concert, we invited our students to come eat lunch in our class room provided by Friends of Strings and other parent donations. We are so grateful for your support! Dylan Corso, our 6th grade Historian, provided these photographs for me. (Sorry 7th and 8th, no pictures, I was too busy with the pizza! I am sorry!). If you would like to assist by becoming a part of FoS please check out their website here: http://www.ahstrings.org Our 6th grade Historian, Dylan Corso, wanted me to share his photography of our large 9th period 6th grade class. Here's a behind the scene look of our class! All this kids working together is an amazing and spirited feat. Bravo! This past weekend, some of our students participated in the Region 12 Clinic and Concert. Amazing guest clinicians were flown in to conduct the students. The performance was of very high quality. I hope you liked the performance as much as I did and that your students learned a lot from these highly qualified clinicians. Even I learned a lot and plan to use from of thier techinques in the classroom her at AHJS! Recordings were available for purchase at the concert. I am going to try to see if I can get my hands on a CD! Hello Everyone!
Our concert is only a week away! Please invite family and friends to enjoy this celebration with us! I asked our president, Sophia Carroll, to assist me in coordanate the creation of this holiday card. I believe that Cole Shelton is our master photoshop guru for this project - didn't he do such an awesome job? I cannot get enough of all the cuteness! (Please excuse the typo, I didn't even notice for a bit!). Download and share, e-invite the world! *P.S. Students are required to wear all black, but may replace the top for an "ugly christmas sweater" if they wish. They also can wear holiday themed heargear if it does not interfere with thier playing. Hello! Happy Friday!
I wanted to create a blog post highlighting the positivies of taking private lessons. This year, just implemeted a private lesson program on our campus and it has been going swell! All our teachers are extremely booked with our students. We may have a few spots open for cello lessons with Mr. Galvan, but that's it - so contact me if you are interested. It really depends which class your child is in. I am also reaching out because I have a fantastic list of teachers in our area offering lessons that I have referred our students to. Many students have given me positive reviews of thier new teachers and enjoy their lessons; I am very pleased! If you have the time and budget to provide your lesson with this extra instruction, please consider! Private lessons benefit everyone, not just students who are struggling to keep up with their peers. Private lessons have many benefits. Teachers create a program that is unique and address your child's needs and personality. They also help your student gain more confidence and provide you student a relationship with an adult who could help him with these "unknown hidden benefits*":
I am firm believer that music helps delvlop a child's citizenship and fosters well rounded personilitiies due to the massive responsibility and discipline that comes with learning to master an instrument. Sometimes, the extra help goes a LONG way. Have a helped convience you yet? Not sure? No worries, shoot me an email at [email protected] if you would like to consider private lessons. I will help you answer questions and help you find the teacher that best fits your child. *taken from http://www.northbaytrumpetstudio.com/parent/benifits.html |
